Government Letting Women Down By Not Doing More to
Address Violence
A report by the new End Violence Against Women Coalition has given the
Government just one out of 10 for its efforts to protect women in the UK from
violence. The coalition is calling on the government to draw up and implement an
integrated strategy to protect women from all forms of violence.
Liberal Democrat Spokesperson for Tooting, Stephanie
Dearden said:-
Women who have been subject to violent crimes, such as domestic violence, rape
and sexual assault are being badly let down by this Government. The Government
also needs to do far more to tackle problems of sexual harassment, domestic
violence, trafficking and honour crime if we are to believe that they take the
issue of violence against women seriously.
